This is an advent calendar for the whole town! Every day, from 1st December to 24th December, a new Christmas window is appearing. Twenty four households and schools have kindly offered to decorate a window in the spirit of Christmas, and it will be lit and accessible for members of the public to come and see.
Advent is a time of waiting for Christmas, of following the star to find the king, and in that spirit people can follow the windows in the time leading up to Christmas.
The main purpose of putting this together is for solidarity and community spirit, we can adjust to changed circumstances and have Covid-safe festive activities for young and old, and we can make a lonely Christmas into one where people feel supported and where we can bring light, joy and hope this Christmas.
Everybody is invited to join in and to decorate a festive window!
