In 2019 Sherborne Town Council, like Dorset Council, declared a climate emergency.
The Council has committed to taking local action to help in the fight against climate change’s worst effects. Science tells us we have less than 10 years to prevent the planet heating up by 2%. Anything more than this will be catastrophic for most of all life on the planet. As a community we have to play our part in turning away from fossil fuels to lower emissions and restore our degraded environment.

It isn’t all doom and gloom because changing the way we consume energy and care for the environment will make our lives better. Our families can enjoy more green spaces, more trees, more cycling networks, and cleaner air to breathe.
Here, on Green Sherborne, you can find out what local green organisations are up to. You can get advice or use the links to get involved yourself.
Any news on green issues is here too. For instance – did you know Sherborne has several electric car charging points – CLICK HERE for a map of where these can be found.
