26th October 2024 – 3rd November 2024
As part of their scheme in the area JDT has identified the need to decommission and relay 250 metres of gas main as well as make new connections along Marston Road, Sherborne. They have proposed a temporary southbound road closure on Marston Road, Sherborne from a point 20 metres to the north of the junction with Coombe to the junction with A30, a distance of approximately 130 metres. These works will be carried out between 26th October 2024 – 3rd November 2024.
In addition to this we have been notified by Wessex Water that they have a severe water leak along A30, Greenhill. To make the necessary repairs Wessex Water will need to switch off the permanent traffic signals and replace with a temporary set up to incorporate a traffic signal head past their works area. The works cannot be done overnight due to the required excavations and will be in operation 24 hours a day from 30th October 2024 until 1st November 2024. They will be manually controlling the traffic lights from 7am – 7pm. These works are expected to be very disruptive so Dorset Council has suggested that they are both carried out during the Autumn Half Term to minimise disruption to school traffic.
