Carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works in Sherborne

Dorset Council has issued several Public Notices, under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, in order to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works over the coming weeks.

Please find details of these below:

Temporary closure of St Aldhelms Place – comes into operation on 9th February 2026 between 9am and 4pm and will remain in force until 10th February 2026.

Temporary closure of Priestlands – comes into operation on 10th February 2026 between 9am and 4pm and remain in force for five days but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 11th February 2026.

Temporary closure of Newland – comes into operation on 11th February 2026 between 9am and 4pm and will remain in force until 13th February 2026.

Temporary closure of Half Acres – comes into operation on 13th February 2026 between 9am and 4pm​ and will remain in force for five days but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16th February 2026.

Temporary closure of Richmond Road, from the junction with Richmond Green, to the junction with Richmond Close and Richmond Close, in it’s entirety – comes into operation on 13th February 2026 between 9am and 4pm​ and will remain in force for five days but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16th February 2026.

Temporary closure of Vernalls Road – comes into operation on 16th February 2026 between 9am and 4pm and will remain in force until 17th February 2026.

Temporary closure of The Wilderness – comes into operation on 2nd March 2026 between 9am and 4pm and will remain in force until 3rd March 2026.

Temporary closure of Tinneys Lane – comes into operation on 2nd March 2026 between 9am and 4pm and will remain in force until 3rd March 2026.

Temporary closure of Bradford Road – comes into operation on 31st March 2026 between 9am and 4pm and remain in force for five days but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 2nd April 2026.
