The council advice line will remain live from 10.00 am to 12 noon Monday to Friday. Call 01935 812807 if you are not sure where to find the help you need. The Grounds Maintenance teams are continuing to operate, as they did throughout COVID-19, to keep our lovely parks and pathways in the best possible condition. Pageant Gardens, Paddock Gardens and Sherborne Cemetery are now open to visitors observing Government guidelines on social distancing.
Children’s play areas are open but the public are asked to observe the Government advice on social distancing and hand cleanliness. The Terrace Playing Fields will be closed during this period.
Digby Hall is closed except for a limited number of exempt activities. For further information please go to the Digby Hall pages here.
Town Council grants and special grants from the Mayor’s Fund continue to be paid to support a wide range of charities and voluntary groups.
The Town Council continues to work closely with Dorset Council and national agencies to ensure help reaches the most vulnerable. It has also helped to facilitate changes in Cheap Street to encourage shoppers back into Town to support local businesses.
The Council continues to hold meetings using Zoom, until the Government relaxes the rules on social distancing. The next full Town Council meeting will take place on Monday 16 November 2020 and the next Plans Committee on 7 December 2020. If the public wish to ask a question or make a comment on any matter on the Agenda of a Town Council Virtual meeting, they should contact the Town Clerk 24 hours in advance of the meeting.
