Some further details:
The 4th stage of the walk takes place on Friday 25th September from Stourton Caundle to Sherborne (6 miles), 9.45 am arrival for 10 am start. In the afternoon the walk will continue from Sherborne to Thornford (4 miles).
Meet at the church in Stourton Caundle for the walk into Sherborne with the Dorset High Sheriff and Sherborne Town Mayor.
There we will be a light lunch for the walkers provided by the Sherborne Community Kitchen.
After lunch there will be the chance for the Dorset High Sheriff to meet statutory bodies, youth organisations and young people at The Rendezvous.
From there the Mayor of Sherborne alongside the Dorset High Sheriff will officially open the new Ninja Warrior Trail at Blackberry Lane Adventure and Skate Park.
Sherborne Abbey Primary School will send off the Dorset High Sheriff and her Walking delegation as they continue the walk on to Thornford.
The end point for this part of the walk is St Mary Magdalene’s Church in Thornford, DT9 6QF, located on Church Road Grid Ref: ST 60309 13232 with an estimated arrival time of 4.30 pm.
The walk is to raise awareness of county lines, where children and vulnerable young adults are exploited and coerced by drug cartels.The hope is to raise at least £15,000 for Dorset youth charities that provide safe spaces, opportunity, skills , education or protection across the county, including Future Roots, Escape Line, YMCA Bournemouth, The Talk About Trust Drug Education Charity, BYCC youth club and The Front Skate Park.
