Following the Government’s guidance for construction activity– that it should continue where it fits with both the current Public Health England requirements and in accordance with industry safety guidance – Dorset Council is restarting a programme of carefully selected maintenance works.
We will soon be starting footway works in your area. We will be replacing sections of footway within the area marked in red indicated on the map below. These sections have been highlighted for phase 1 of the works due to the high defect numbers. We are hoping to address additional areas when further funding has been secured. In the current financial climate, the highways service has had to focus its budget on targeting the most damaged sections of footway and areas with safety issues.
We hope to start work on 4th January for 10 weeks. To enable us to safely carry out this work, we need to close the footway and use temporary traffic lights to control the traffic.
