As part of Sherborne Town Council’s Green Forward Plan and in a bid to reduce our organisation’s carbon footprint we have introduced new insulation, LED lighting, air source heat pumps and solar PV at the Gainsborough Pavilion in Sherborne.
The total cost of this project was £95K. 40% (£38K) of this was funded by Low Carbon Dorset as part of the European Regional Development Fund and will save an estimated 40 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year. The remaining amount was ringfenced money by Sherborne Town Council for carbon reduction savings.
All equipment being installed comes with long term warranties.
A display screen showing the carbon saving is being installed in early 2023 and will be located on the wall near the band hall air source heat pumps to allow for maximum exposure to those walking down the path and towards the tennis courts.
