Mayor of Sherborne, Cllr Anne Hall, attended the 70th Anniversary Reception of the Friends of The Yeatman Hospital on Monday evening at Castle Gardens in Sherborne.
Anne spoke at the celebration, acknowledging the founding of the charity in 1951.
The reception marked the start of a year of The Yeatman engaging with the community, to say thank you, along with celebrating a number of successes achieved, including the response to COVID, the reopening of the MIU and long-term future of the Yeatman.
Anne said ‘It was great to attend the celebrations the official kick start of the 70 years anniversary of the Friends of the Yeatman. We thank the Friends past & present for all their hard work in enabling the Hospital to provide quality care for the residents of Sherborne & surrounding villages.’
Other speakers included David Hayes, Chairman of the Friends; Richard Hunt, Patron of 70th Anniversary Year and Mike Burks of Castle Gardens.
