New Speed Indicator Device for Sherborne

A new Speed Indicator Device (SID) has recently been approved for Sherborne and will be installed soon. This initiative is designed to enhance road safety by alerting drivers when they exceed the speed limit, thereby promoting more responsible driving habits.

The new SID will be placed at a strategic location, which has been identified as a speeding hotspot, based on recent traffic surveys. Currently, the council operates two SIDs in the town, which rotate between Oborne Road, Marston Road, Bradford Road, and Bristol Road.

The new SID will initially be installed at one of these locations, but may be relocated should another site meet the necessary criteria.
