Update from Dorset Council – Newell House fire, road closure update – Cornhill to reopen later today.
Following the fire at Newell House in Sherborne, emergency road closures were put in place to support contractors on site and to keep people safe.
Scaffolding and hoarding have been erected, and the parts of the building that were adjacent to the highway that were dangerous have now been made safe or removed. This means we can reopen Cornhill from 12 noon today (Wednesday 13 May). We would like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience and cooperation while these essential safety works took place.
