On Monday 1 August Sherborne Town Council hosted a public meeting with the Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner David Sidwick and Inspector Jed Want.
The meeting was an opportunity for those attending to be updated by the PCC on the Dorset Police and Crime Plan and receive information about what progress has been made with the plan to date.
Inspector Want from the Sherborne Neighbourhood Policing Team also attended the meeting to give updates on reported local criminal activity and how it is being dealt with.
Both the PCC and Inspector were more than happy to answer questions from those attending, both during the meeting and after it had finished.

Mayor of Sherborne, Cllr Juliet Pentolfe chaired the meeting and said ‘The meeting was very informative, having an update with what is going on across Dorset and especially in rural Dorset was very helpful. Inspector Want brought a local presence so those attending were updated on how local crime is being dealt with and how reporting criminal activity is as important as ever.’
