The Town Council is a strong supporter of the new Sherborne Business Awards. It’s a way of recognising the struggle independent businesses have faced during the COVID pandemic. As the awards organiser Nigel Reeve put it: “I believe it’s time to get business moving again and start focusing on the positives. The awards are to celebrate and promote the range of independent businesses in the area.”
The Town Council is sponsoring the award for New Business of the Year. Cllr Bill Taylor said launching a start-up during coronavirus takes a lot of guts.
Details of how to enter any of the categories can be found on the Sherborne Business Awards website https://www.sherbornebusinessawards.co.uk/
For those businesses in the Dorset Council area which have been ordered to close from 5 November 2020 due to the current national COVID restrictions, if eligible, there is financial support available through the government’s Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG).
Dorset Council is administering the grant on behalf of the government.
